Testimony of Love - Roy Bradley
1. How many years have you been following God?
I came back to the Lord in March 2018 after decades of living apart from Him.
2. How have you experienced light breaking into darkness?
For 40 years, I lived with a deep sense of unworthiness, constantly seeking to impress others. This led to selfish and destructive choices that devastated my family, clients, and my own life.
On March 26, 2018, at my lowest point, I planned to take my life. As I sat in despair, I cried out to Jesus, and He revealed Himself as a holy, loving God who knew every sin I had ever committed—and had died for them all. In that moment, I saw my sin clearly, yet I also saw His love and forgiveness. As I confessed my sins, Jesus wrapped me in His arms and said, “Welcome home, my son.”
That day, my guilt turned into forgiveness, my addiction to alcohol was broken, and my despair turned into hope—not based on my own worth, but on a God who loves me and will take care of me.
3. How has God’s love been made known to you?
Over the past seven years, God has lavished His love on me beyond what I could have imagined. He has forgiven my sins, healed my heart, and given me a deep assurance that I am His treasured possession.
He has provided miraculously, surrounding me with a loving church community that, despite knowing my past, has encouraged and supported me as I seek to honour Him.
In His unfathomable love, He has blessed me in extraordinary ways:
Unexpected financial deposits into my bank account.
Full funding for a much-needed ear operation.
The gift of a car—twice.
Most incredibly, God has restored my relationship with my three amazing sons. Once deeply hurt by my choices, they now lavish their love on me. They find joy in blessing me, and, without being asked, they support me financially every month so that I can live comfortably.
4. What role has confession played in your walk with God?
Only the Lord knows the full extent of my confessions. I pleaded for His forgiveness after spending 40 years living for myself, regardless of the consequences. I confessed to hurting my ex-wife, my sons, my clients, and, most of all, the heart of God.
But in His mercy, He not only forgave me—He redeemed and restored what was lost. My life today is a testament to His boundless love and grace.
