SPIRITUAL GIFTS: CREATIVE COMMUNICATION

Our desire is that every Christ-follower is an active member of a local church and to know what spiritual gifts God has given them for building up the church and the common good. Once you have an idea of how God has gifted you with unique manifestations of the Spirit, use the following next-step guide to help you develop and deploy your gifts as good stewards of God’s varied grace.

CREATIVE COMMUNICATION

The gift of creative communication is the divine enablement to communicate God’s truth through a variety of art forms.

Psalms 150:3-5; 2 Samuel 6:14-15; Mark 4:2, 33

  • Much like craftsmanship, continue to refine your specific art form and even branch out and see what other creative gifting you may have.

  • Work on your ability to receive feedback on your work and go along with someone else's vision a lot of the time. Remember your goal is to serve something bigger than yourself and not simply “express yourself”.

HOW TO DEVELOP:

  • Chat with your Life Group leader and ask if there are anyways you could deploy your gift in the group (even a logo for your WhatsApp group).

  • If you are musical, chat to the leaders about auditioning for the worship team and as a first step, leading worship in a life group setting.

  • Make sure the elders and the staff know your skill set. Show them examples of your work so they can get an idea of style (as that would likely need to align and altered to fit the churches CI etc...) and make yourself available should the need to arise for graphic design, filmmaking etc... Expect to be initially used on projects that have a short life span as they are easier to “risk” on, compared with timeless content that may be used for years or decades to come.
